Arina Dara

Arina is nearing the end of her Bachelor of Fine Arts Drama degree at the Queensland University of Technology. Over the past couple of years, her passions for writing, directing and acting have only gotten stronger through the work that she has done inside and outside of university. Arina enjoys collaborating with like-minded individuals who share her values of equality, empathy and honesty. Her stories often stray from the classic ‘hero’s journey’ format and she adores writing and acting flawed characters. For her, art is about looking at the same thing from many different perspectives and learning as much as she can from each of them. Music and theatre go hand in hand for Arina and she doesn’t shy away from radical theatre conventions or political and activist messaging. Though her work will often have strong messaging, she doesn’t take herself or her work too seriously.

After all, in her opinion, all good theatre should be entertaining.
